The following notes give a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data that can be used to identify you personally.

Some data is collected when you provide it to us, e.g. via the contact form. Other data is collected automatically by our IT systems when you visit the website – mainly technical data such as browser, operating system or time of access. Your usage behaviour is not analysed – this website does not use any statistics, tracking or advertising services.

You have the right at any time to receive information free of charge about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data, and to request its correction or deletion. You can revoke any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future, request the restriction of processing and lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

2. Hosting

This website is hosted by otherworld.de, Karsten Euting, Zumsandestraße 35, 48145 Münster, Germany. When you visit the website, the web server automatically records information in server log files that your browser transmits: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, page requested, time of the request and IP address. This data is not combined with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR – our legitimate interest in providing the website reliably and securely. No data is transferred to countries outside the European Union by the hosting. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the host.

4. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability under the GDPR. Where processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (e) or (f) GDPR, you may object to it at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.

5. Data collected on this website

Cookies

This website only sets one technically necessary session cookie, and only on the contact page. It serves solely to protect the form from misuse and is deleted when you close your browser. No third-party cookies and no analytics or advertising cookies are used (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Contact form

When you send us an enquiry via the contact form, we process your name, email address, optionally your phone number, your topic, your preferred language and your message in order to handle your enquiry. The enquiry is sent to us by email, and you receive a short confirmation. In addition, the enquiry is stored on the web server in a protected, non-public area so that it can be handled reliably. It is deleted there automatically no later than 180 days after receipt – earlier on request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you can revoke at any time.

Protecting the form against misuse

To protect the form against automated spam, we store a non-reversible hash of your IP address for a maximum of one hour and check how long it took to fill in the form. No external captcha services are used (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Enquiries by email, phone or WhatsApp

If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp, your enquiry including all resulting personal data is stored and processed in order to handle your request. We do not pass this data on without your consent. If you contact us via WhatsApp, data is also processed by WhatsApp Ireland Limited (Meta), which may involve a transfer to the USA. Using WhatsApp is voluntary – you can always reach us by email or phone instead.

6. Fonts, video and external links

Fonts, images and the background video are loaded exclusively from our own server. No connection to third-party servers (e.g. Google Fonts, YouTube or Vimeo) is established when you visit this website. Only when you click on an external link (e.g. WhatsApp) do you leave our website; the respective provider is then responsible for the processing of your data.
