My path
From crisis to clarity
How it all began – and why today I accompany other people on their path.

1977
Childhood in Nuremberg
Born in Nuremberg in 1977, for a long time I thought I had had a relatively happy childhood. But as it turned out in recent years, many of the challenges I faced in life can be traced back to what shaped me in my early years.
Questions about meaning arose unconsciously very early on, and I was always drawn in different directions.

Youth
Searching
My own path began in a difficult time in my youth – with the wish to resolve my dissatisfaction. I was disoriented and depressed and looked for relief in all kinds of things, but my state only seemed to get worse.
I had existential questions about my own life, but also about the state of the world.

Berlin
The carousel of thoughts
I did my civilian service in Berlin, where I sought distraction at parties and in alcohol. But that did nothing to change how I felt.
I still remember the urgent need to stop the carousel of thoughts that kept spinning faster and faster – I was afraid of losing my mind. For the first time, the idea of meditation came up as a possible way out.

Thailand
First encounter with meditation
That brought me to Thailand, where I came into contact with meditation for the first time. I spent a month in a monastery, and something changed fundamentally: life felt alive, joyful and free.
I like to describe it like this: before, everything was grey, and suddenly everything regained its colour. I felt joy again.
But this experience lasted only a few months. As I no longer meditated regularly, old habits returned. I realised: it is not about a beautiful experience, but about staying with the inner work, steadily.
“Before, everything was grey – and suddenly everything regained its colour.”

Wandering years
Meditation as the common thread
Over the past 25 years, meditation has become the common thread of my life. For several years I lived in meditation centres in various countries, encountered different traditions – and meditation and inner work became more and more part of my life.
-
India & Nepal
Fifteen years of study and ordination
Then I ended up in India and Nepal, where I met my main teachers. For fifteen years I spent most of my time there, devoting myself intensively to the study of Buddhism, meditation and the Tibetan language. During this time I was ordained as a Buddhist monk.

Return to Europe
In 2016 my teacher Mingyur Rinpoche suggested that I return to Europe to teach.

Today
Teaching, translating, accompanying
Since then I have been leading meditation seminars and retreats and translating from Tibetan for another of my teachers, Khenpo Kunga. I accompany people from all walks of life around the world in their practice and in finding better ways of dealing with challenging life situations.
When I expressed the wish to work with people of every background, Mingyur Rinpoche advised me to offer coaching.
Teachers and companions
Supported by authentic teachers
What shaped me most deeply was the good fortune of meeting authentic teachers and mentors. Their clarity and human warmth showed me how valuable real orientation is.
My vision
Together towards our true home
Every problem other people experience, I have experienced myself in one form or another – and still do.
Whether depression, anxiety, disorientation, questions of meaning, doubt, grief, heartbreak, the effects of childhood trauma or all kinds of conflict – the list could go on. The question is how we meet these problems.
That doesn’t mean I no longer fail or struggle – I often do. But I see a tendency that inspires me to accompany other people who are also on the path – and to find our way home together.
That is why I would like to support you in navigating the challenges you face and in living a more fulfilled, happier and more authentic life – and in discovering a contentment within yourself that is not shaken by ever-changing circumstances and the ups and downs of life.
It is an honour and a joy for me to work with people. I have no recipe and no fixed templates. I bring my personal experience of inner work, my experience as a meditator and meditation teacher – and above all the openness to meet you just as you are. Without judgement.

You offer an invitation and a space to meet yourself.
Dear Holger, thank you very much! I would like to try to express how you have helped the students and us.
You offer an invitation and a space to meet yourself. To connect with yourself, to feel and explore your inner self, to get to know yourself and to know what nourishes you – to know, accept and care for yourself.
This connection with yourself happens through breathing, sensing and becoming aware. It helps to understand that one is a fluctuating process, and you offer support in feeling and coping with these fluctuations.
You help us see the beauty of life. In ourselves, in others, in space and in spaces. One becomes aware that when breathing in, one takes in the beauty of others, and when breathing out, one shares one’s inner self.
